Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 6:10 PM Dec. 18, 2025 – National Weather Service
...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM TO 1 PM EST
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Up to 1 1/2 half foot of inundation above ground level
expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.

* WHERE...In Connecticut, Southern Fairfield County. In New
York, Southern Westchester County.

* WHEN...From 8 AM to 1 PM EST Friday.

* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Minor flooding is expected in the most
vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Expect
up to 1 1/2 ft of inundation above ground level in low lying,
vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property including
parking lots, parks, lawns and homes/businesses with basements
near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding.

* HUDSON RIVER IMPACTS...Minor flooding of the most vulnerable
locations near the waterfront and shoreline expected from surge
up the Hudson River.

* SHORELINE IMPACTS...Breaking waves of 3 to 5 ft during the time
of high tide will result in beach erosion, wave splashover
bulkheads exacerbating flooding along shoreline roads and
properties, with minor damage possible to shoreline structures.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heavy rain during the time of high tide may
exacerbate flood impacts. This forecast is leaned towards a
higher end flood impact scenario, to account for slower trend in
cold frontal passage and potential coincidence with heavy rain.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.
